design and craft of a few functional elements inside the Adidas Runbase in Kreuzberg, Berlin.
Julius Kranefuss and his architecture firm Zweidrei Architekten commissioned us to design and build a few functional elements inside the Adidas Runbase in Kreuzberg, Berlin. We crafted the bar extending from the Lab Kitchen, a hexagonal sink, a 4,5 meter long table, a sink extending the length of one wall in the bathroom, and the lighting in both the shop and display boxes.
In this multi-functional environment, we built the two largest pieces with the purpose of enabling multiple activities. The bar serves as a space for service and eating, as well as for workshops with food & drink. The concrete table top is one free piece, so the support below can be changed as needed. We elevated the floor behind the bar to give the staff a better view over the space, while keeping the counter at a comfortable height for employees and customers alike.
Furthermore, the hexagonal concrete sink in the bathroom and changing area adds a custom feel for this environment which often must accommodate many Runbase athletes and yoga attendants at once. The lighting system is dimmable, low voltage, and similar to those we integrated in projects Betahaus Café, Dark Horse White Space.
